There are 3 lines for your choice if you driver from
Chengdu to Hailuogou by yourself:
Line 1:
By Chengdu-Ya.an expressway (through Shuangliu County,
Xinjin County, Pujiang County, Minshan County, Ya’an
city),pass Tianquan County,go through mountain Erlang
tunnel then arrive at Hailuogou Scenic Spot.. The whole
line is around 290km.
Line 2:
By Chengdu-Ya’an expressway (through Shuangliu County,
Xinjin County,Pujiang County, Minshan County, Ya’an
city),cross Niba hill, pass Hanyuan County, Shimian
County, etc to Hailuogou. The whole line is around 468km
Line 3:
It will take 2days to get to Hailuogou resort from Chengdu,
through Dujiangyan,Wolong Nature Protection Zone,Xiaojin,Danba,
and Luding. It is 750km long. The advantage is that
you can enjoy the view of Siguniang mountain first,
go through Xiaojin, then go down along the Xiaojin river
to Danba, and you will enjoy the beautiful view of Danba’s
tower, Tibetan villages, Mo’er Duo mountain and the
beauties of Danba who are well known in china. And through
the resorts of Bamei, Tagong,Xinduqiao to get to Kangding
County,finally to Hailuogou resort.
Local specialties of Hailuogou
Cherry
The first fruits ripe in summer in Luding. They are
as round as pearl, as red as agate, with rich juice
and flesh, taste of sweet and acid, and abundant nutrition.
Loquat
One of early fruits ripe in summer in Luding. they can
be divided into two kinds: orange yellow and light yellow.
They are like round ball or ellipse, with rich juice
and appropriate taste of sweet and acid.
Aroma peach
The peaches in the places of Ludingqiao Town, Gangudi,
Gancao and Mushan of Tianba village, and Shangangping
of Pengba village are as big as twice or three times
of the common ones. They are sweet and fragrant, and
widely well known. the peaches there become ripe for
sale in June or July
Chinese chestnut
Chinese chestnut in Moxi, Xinxing and Tianba are perfectly
qualified. They are large with rich and tender flesh,
light color.
Walnut
Luding walnuts have long history. They can grow in high
or half-high mountains or on hills. Walnuts on hills
have rich oil and abundant flesh.
Cacti fruit
The Luding cacti fruits abound in shangangping area
of Daduhe valley. The cacti here can grow 2-3 meters
high. The ellipse fruits grow along the large and thick
leaves of cacti and they are called cacti fruits. The
half ripe cacti fruits are dark green. When becoming
ripe, they will become green or light yellow. You take
off the shuck/shell and eat the nut. it is sweet and
fragrant-a bit like banana.
Persimmon
Persimmons become ripe in late autumn. There are Niuxin
(means ox heart) persimmon and Shui (means water) persimmon.
They are red, orange or golden yellow. The large ones
can be 100-200g weight. The skin is thin and it is sweet.
The persimmons abound in Gonghe village of Hailuogou
are called famous persimmon of Sichuan.
Peppertree pricklyash
Luding peppertree pricklyash abounds in Lan’an, Luqiao,Xinglong,Lengzhi,
etc. they are red, hot, fragrant, rich in oil, not bitter,
and called “standard pepper”
Edible tree fungi
Luding is famous for its Juda’s ear. And the Juda’s
ear in Chuni, Jiajun, and Detuo are big in shape, black
in color and thick in flesh
